Holiday Movies?
I love lists, and I love holiday movies, so this list of top ten family Christmas movies was right up my alley (even if I don't entirely agree with the list selections).
Naturally, that leads me to make my own list of top ten Christmas movies. In no particular order, I present the list of movies I must watch at least once each Christmas season (and woe to you if you mock them or interrupt me as I'm watching them):
What movies do you watch every holiday season? And, if you celebrate Christmas, what kicks off your Christmas season?
My personal season officially kicks off during the first weekend of December; that's when it's OK to put up the tree and other decorations. The tree goes up while holiday music plays & hot chocolate is drank, then other interior decorations go up, then finally the exterior decorations go up.
Incidentally, my Christmas season officially ends by New Year's Day - all traces of Christmas must be put away no later than January 1st.

- It's a Wonderful Life
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated 1966 version, not the live action 2000 version)
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
- A Charlie Brown Christmas
- Elf
- The Family Man
- All the Rankin & Bass stop-motion animation TV specials (such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Comin' To Town, and The Year Without a Santa Claus) and other animated specials (such as the one whose title I can never remember, about the town that builds a Christmas clock to bring Santa back after a town mouse writes a letter that makes Santa mad enough to stay away from the town).
- Miracle on 34th Street
- A Christmas Carol
- Home Alone
- The Polar Express
- While You Were Sleeping (This is only loosely categorized as a Christmas movie, in that it starts out over Christmas, and I watch it all year long)
- Love Actually (Also loosely categorized as a Christmas movie, and also one I could watch all year long)

My two favorite Christmas movies are Love Actually and Polar Express. I watched them both over the weekend. The Christmas season usually starts for me the Friday after Thanksgiving, when I play my mix cds of novelty holiday music while I decorate my tree.

Thanks for reminding me about those two movies - I like them both.
WHAT!!?!! No Mr. Magoo as Scrooge? What kind of list are you running here, you?
Nope, no Mr. Magoo as Scrooge. I don't think I've ever even *seen* such a thing.
I'm surprised that you didn't add A Christmas Story. I love Ralphie and his read rider BB gun. I was think of you as I decorated the Christmas tree singing along to Christmas songs as I hungall your beautiful orniments on the tree and rang the silver bells.
I sure do miss you!

Argh...I'm not much a fan of Christmas, so I stick with my regular film rotation.
