Civic Duty
Dudes! I was selected for jury duty *again*! This means I have a 100% success rate of being chosen for jury duty. I'm on another criminal trial, but at least this one isn't a murder trial.
The judge expects we'll begin deliberations tomorrow & that the trial will conclude tomorrow. We'll see.
I'm a cog in the wheel of justice! I'm serving my county and neighbors!
Oh, and if ever you're at the Delaware County Courthouse, about to order lunch from the cafeteria, do yourself a favor and do not get the Grilled Cheese Hamburger. You might be intrigued by the title. You might want to see for yourself how a Grilled Cheese Hamburger differs from a plain old cheeseburger. They are similar, but not the same. I wasn't impressed by the Grilled Cheese Hamburger.

I have 100% selection record as well. I always feel like I have "PICK ME" on my forehead.
I always get picked foreperson, too. Damn my big mouth -- people mistake it for knowing what the hell I'm talking about.
It's nice to see that you're so positive and excited about it. I had a bad jury duty experience the first time around so I would try hard not to be chosen again. It's a shame I feel that way, I know. But when you're the odd man out in a room full of people saying "I know he did it but I'm voting not guilty because I don't wanna see him go to jail", it's kind of hard to respect the justice system.
Good luck!!!
When on jury duty, I usually have lunch at Steven's on the main-drag in Media. Give it a try if you are allowed to leave the courthouse while on a jury.
I enjoyed my jury duty, but both times I was on murder trials and it was hard to hold that much power in your hands. It was in my view WAY harder to convict than to acquit, and I had to spend the next few days after the verdict reminding myself that we made a fair decision based on the evidence before us. I never tried to find out how long the defendant's sentence was, and I don't think I want to know.
